New Writer Tips: Writer Access
I apologize for missing a day {gasp!} – I had this post started, and then an emergency situation arose at a forum where I help out as a moderator and I never got back here to finish my post last night.
Anyway, yes, we have arrived at the end of my personal list of web content companies for new writers (and others) to consider – and the final one is Writer Access.
I can’t even tell you where I learned about this one, but I’m glad I did, as it helped provide nearly $100 of additional income in February – just received it yesterday via PayPal.
According to the “blurb” on their site, “Writer Access is owned and managed by ideaLaunch, a leading content marketing agency founded by Byron White.” It serves as a marketplace to bring together writers and clients who contract services for content on various websites, article, white papers, and more.
Writer Access requires writers to fill out an online application, complete with a writing sample. If you are accepted, you are rated between 2 to 5, and this rating determines what level articles you can write and dictates the pay rate for assignments that clients leave in the queue. You can choose to write below your level, but not above.
At this time, Writer Access is definitely not a major source for writing income – the assignments are “first come, first serve,” so you have to check several times a day to see if there are any available assignments. The ones I have seen so far ranged from levels 2 to 4; the assignments under level 4 have ended up being between about $2.50 to $8.50 for approximately 350-500 words. The three level 4 assignments went for about $13 to $20 for 550-675 words.
I have a 4 rating, found 11 assignments to write during February, and earned almost $100. A writing buddy told me it’s worthwhile to keep picking up the smaller assignments, because if you do and receive high marks from clients, it opens up opportunities for higher paying assignments.
Sure enough, I received an invitation to write a post for the WA blog that has just started up, and has little content so far. I’m looking forward to writing that one and will post about it after it’s published.
So if this sounds like a gig you want to try for “small change” (at the beginning), apply at Writer Access.

Thank you very much for posting this article. Its a very useful article.
I have an account with them, but never actually wrote anything. They keep sending out emails though saying they have undergone some changes. Maybe I should give it another look

I’ve been with WA for about 6 weeks — love it! But — and this is a big but — everything was going great. I was getting assignments of more than $50. Then they disappeared, even though I was added to many love lists and regularly received bonuses. I went to the website of one of the clients and noticed that he is still buying and publishing articles. I leave a browser open and check WA all day long, so it’s unlikely I’m suddenly missing all the well-paying assignments. Then once when I received an email that assignments were about to be posted, nothing ever materialized.
I really like them! I just don’t find anything work there.

I think you’re right in that it’s a matter of stalking them to get work. Unfortunately, I tend to only look once a day. I need to get in the habit of stalking them every time I stalk TB for their higher paying assignments LOL
Thanks for the description. I had heard of this one, but little info about the specifics. Thanks.
